What the Oligarchs?

Ladies & Gentlemen they are coming for fashion!

These Silicone Valley nerds are officially out in the wild and I am not a fan, at all. Not that I am huge into fashion or have actually tuned in to watch a full Met Gala carpet, but I see it and this is my blog, so here we are my rant of the week. On one hand nice for finally giving up that turtle neck, jeans, and plain shoes look up. But a blazer could’ve fixed that problem if you’re so into fashion now. Let’s not forget adding fitness and maybe a different hair due.

For me it is the audacity of these people. You are fucking up the environment, removing so many jobs with your AI, destroying the country with your data centers, coming after our privacy, and just making living nearly impossible with how much water and power your centers require. Your purchased “Tech Gala” is boycotted by celebrities and your name/company are dragged through the mud across the city leading up to the event. Which makes sense why you and your fellow tasteless friends skipped out on walking the carpet. Which leads us to you seems nice, tacky wife.

Podcast host and commentator Matt Bernstein put it well, in an Instagram post shared on the night. “You might be thinking: ‘it’s the Met Gala and she’s one of the richest women in the world,’” Bernstein said. “‘She should be wearing something more inventive, more creative, more boundary breaking.’ But I think this dress is perfect for her because she is none of those things.”

But you and your friends are also non of those things. You all may be bumping elbows with celebrities, the president and his own plastic disaster of a wife. Now attempting to become culturally relevant one affair, makeover, and red carpet at a time. But that is not your world Jeff, all those billions can’t make it yours. Hate to break it to you but even I know that. Which is why you became visibly annoyed when you were upstaged by the talented Nicole Kidman on the Oscars. Remember that? We sure do.

But now we also have your fellow colleagues getting more into fashion. Like Mark Zuckerberg joining fashion shows and Palantir dropping a “Chore Coat” and “taste” being the new it thing among tech bros. Oh great! So now we have to deal with a condescending lecture about tech, how great AI actually is, yet while now trying to become more acceptable to the general crowd? Because you have now realized, maybe a little late, but you must associate yourself with the “cool, creative, artsy” crowd because you and your products are not very palatable. And yes you are finally correct. You and your products are not accepted. So leave the cool kids at it and go back to your own crowd.

On a final note, with all the plastic surgery everywhere and tech bros secretly hiding out in the open. Do you think this was their goal? A plastic made swan and Silicone Valley match made for the future, by tech and doctors?
